My Story

Hello there! Thank you so much for taking the time to read about me. My name is Sarah and I'm a Jesus-follower, nature-admirer, coffee-addict, and a lover of art, poetry, literature, and photography. I'm also a stay-at-home mom of two beautiful, wild boys!

Honestly, in my entire family, I'm the first woman to hold a camera and pursue photography. How did that happen? Let me share a little story behind it.
Being a South East Asian, I come from a very conservative culture where women's roles in society are very limited. People raise eyebrows if a woman wants to do something only men are entitled to. A woman is not as free as in Western culture and it shatters the dreams of so many women. All that changed when my American husband gave me his camera and said, "Go enjoy taking some photos." I took photos of a forest, clouds, flowers, and puppies. I absolutely loved it but I found the camera settings too complicated so I put the camera aside and forgot about it for a few years.

Later, my husband changed careers and became a professor at a Baptist university. One day, he signed me up for a photography class at his campus. I learned how to take professional photos in a 4 month "Introduction to Digital Photography" course. I worked on so many different projects and thoroughly enjoyed my whole experience. At the end of the course, my husband formed a website from all the photos I collected.

I have been very fortunate to be married to someone who supports and encourages me to try new things but also saw something I didn't even know I had in me, a talent for photography! For that, I will be forever grateful for him!

I didn't stop there. Since then, I have also invested in a 2 day photography business seminar and one-on-one mentoring for newborn posing. I have a desire to continue to learn and grow. I want to offer the best to my clients, who have trusted in my talent and given me the opportunity to capture their memories that they will cherish for the rest of their life.

My style is natural, vibrant, warm, and true to colors, which means I represent the true colors of the season and environment I'm working on. I like it that way and that's how I want to be recognized, as someone who captures authentic and spontaneous moments during the session.

If you choose me to take your photos you will be playing a small role in empowering me. My heart will be jumping up and down with joy to pass that empowerment to other women in the same walk of life as me. Thank you and God bless you!
